The Lives of Artists – Portraits of Contemporary Norwegian Artists
The Lives of Artists – Portraits of Contemporary Norwegian Artists
The book focuses both on the artistic practice and the life journey of each individual artist, aiming to get closer to the person behind the art. A documentary book of this scope—featuring life stories and photographic portraits of contemporary Norwegian visual artists—has not previously been published.
In this project, readers become acquainted with 19 unique voices that together reflect the diversity of the Norwegian art scene today:
Sverre Bjertnæs, Håkon Bleken, Kenneth Blom, Frank Brunner, Lars Elling, Jan Groth, Liv Heier, Håvard Homstvedt, Svein Johansen, Anki King, Ida Lorentzen, Thorvald Lund-Hansen, Hilde Mæhlum, Martine Poppe, Vebjørn Sand, Tore Bjørn Skjølsvik, Ingeborg Stana, Marie Storaas and Elisabeth Werp. The portraits are photographed by Bjørn Wad. Here is a presentation of the book.
The book is available for purchase in Norwegian bookstores.
