The Mystical Light. Svalbard

In 2022 the famous Norwegian landscapepainter Kåre Tveter was born 100 years ago. On the occasion, the book The Mystical Light. Svalbard is launched. In the book, Tveter's works are presented together with a selection of contemporary artists. Focusing on today's environmental challenges, the author Anne Marit Muri has interviewed a eight contemporary artists about their relationship with art and nature, climate challenges, the vulnerable Svalbard/Arctic areas and Kåre Tveter's art.

Ingeborg Stana is one of the artists together with the Norwegian artists Petter Buhagen Håvard Homstvedt, Erle Kyllingmark, Lars Morell, Ørnulf Opdahl, Martine Poppe and Janicke Schønning. Ingeborg Stana discusses the meditative process of artistic creation and the motivation behind her work. "My paintings celebrate the beauty of what we all stand to lose," she says. "I hope they can serve as records of sublime landscapes in flux."
