Why Drawing is Good for Adults
Did you stop drawing as a child? You are not alone. Research shows that drawing activity declines significantly already in primary school — a phenomenon known as the "drawing crisis". But Professor Ingeborg Stana believes it is never too late to pick up a pencil again. In this interview with forskning.no, she explains why drawing is beneficial for coordination, concentration and creativity — and how it can reduce stress. She also shares insights into why business leaders are increasingly seeking drawing courses, and how visual communication can make complex ideas more accessible.
